TL;DR: Saler is local-first by default. Your deal data stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to sync. We collect minimal data needed to operate the service, and we never sell your information.
1. Introduction
Saler ("we," "our," or "us") provides a browser extension and web application that helps Sales Engineers manage deal context. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address, role/title (optional), and any other information you provide when joining our waitlist or creating an account.
- Deal Data: Notes, links, requirements, and other context you store in deal tiles. This data is stored locally on your device by default.
- Feedback: Any feedback, suggestions, or support requests you submit.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Analytics: Basic usage metrics to improve the product (e.g., feature usage counts, error logs). We use privacy-respecting analytics.
- Calendar Data: With your permission, we read your Google Calendar to suggest relevant deal tiles for upcoming meetings. We do not store your calendar data on our servers.
- CRM Data: With your permission, when you visit a CRM opportunity page, we may capture basic fields (Account, Stage, Amount) to enrich your deal tiles. This data is stored locally by default.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
If you choose to connect integrations (when available), we may receive limited data from those services to populate your deal tiles. Each integration will clearly explain what data is accessed before you connect.
3. How We Use Your Information

4. Data Storage & Security
4.1 Local-First Architecture
By default, your deal data (notes, links, requirements) is stored locally in your browser using secure storage APIs. This means:
- Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable sync
- You maintain full control over your information
- Data is tied to your browser profile
4.2 Optional Cloud Sync
If you choose to enable cloud sync (when available), your data will be encrypted in transit and at rest. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3, AES-256) to protect your information.
4.3 Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Minimal data collection principles
- Regular security reviews

We do not use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers.
